Currently, we serve 120 households each week, with enrolment rising faster each year. In September 2024, we were featured in the news due to the increasing demand within the community. As every holiday season approaches, we expect even more families and individuals to seek our assistance. Please consider making a donation.
When I first moved to Sooke, I applied for a Christmas hamper and I was so thankful to all of the staff for going above and beyond to make sure I also had gifts for my children! Last year, I delivered hampers for friends, or I would drive them to the food bank because they don’t have vehicles. The staff all remember you and personally make sure everyone has got everything they need. The Sooke Food Bank is not only filled with wonderful staff members, it’s also a great place to gather other resources. Staff always go out of their way to help those who inquire about almost anything and if they don’t have the information handy, they’re going to find out for you. Thank you to everyone for all of your hard work and dedication to make the Sooke Food Bank operate smoothly. It takes a community to raise a family, and that’s exactly what the food bank does. It’s 100% an awesome thing to be able to share this with people, who may otherwise not know that you’re not JUST a food bank.
