“Feed the Need” show raises $4800
Thanks to the bands and organizers of the “Feed the Need” show featuring Nautical Disaster at the Sooke Community Hall on October 18, who fundraised $4800 for the Sooke Food Bank.
$4816! Amazing! Thank you all for supporting this show and helping bring together a vital donation to the Sooke Food Bank when they need it the most. Thanksgiving just cleared their shelves and the winter months see the highest need. These funds will stay right here in the Sooke community, helping your friends and neighbours who struggle with food insecurity.
We couldn’t have done it without our amazing fans supporting us these past 6 years. We are so happy to have grown to a level where we can give back this much! In many cultures, wealth is not measured by how much you have, but by how much you can give and support your community.

After an epic line-up of summer gigs and festivals — sharing the stage with bands like Big Sugar, Trooper, Sam Roberts Band, The Glorious Sons, and Nickelback — Nautical Disaster is bringing their unmatched Tragically Hip Tribute Act back to Sooke to help fill the shelves of the Sooke Food Bank. Special guests, Zonnis, will open the show.
25% of ticket sales will be donated to the Sooke Food Bank, along with sales from a silent auction, and $1 from every drink and 50¢ from every slice of pizza sold at the event.

About Nautical Disaster
Nautical Disaster is Canada’s most authentic Tragically Hip Tribute Act, bringing Gord Downie’s essence to life.
Based in Victoria, Nautical Disaster was formed in 2018 by frontman Ryan LeBlanc, after hearing enough people at karaoke nights tell him to start his own Tragically Hip tribute act. Rodney VanSpengen (drums) and Alan Davies (guitar) have been with the project since the beginning, with Harry Somers (bass/vocals) joining about 8 months later. The newest member is Stéphane Côté (guitar/vocals).
While no one can truly be The Hip, Nautical Disaster stands out as the closest homage to their incredible legacy.
