Thanks to the bands and organizers of the “Feed the Need” show featuring Nautical Disaster, who fundraised $4800.
This year’s Thanksgiving Food Drive resulted in 4140lbs. of food that you, the Sooke community, donated — 1500lbs. more than last year.
A big shout-out to the amazing volunteers at Sooke Baptist Church’s Grace Gardens, who tend the gardens twice weekly to donate food to Sooke Food Bank.
Sooke Home Hardware’s “Fill the Van” event raises $1200 and Daniel’s Market reopening party donates over $500.
Sooke Spring Craft Fair and fundraiser for the Food Bank comes up this Saturday and Sunday at the community hall.

Sooke Food Bank is concerned it can’t keep up with the demands of a rapidly increasing population.

Growing demand and limited space spurs construction of new 4000 square-foot facility adjacent to the Sooke Baptist Church.
The pandemic’s first wave taught us a lesson in emergency preparedness: that we need a bigger space to run our entire operation.
One local bakery is doing its part to make sure the community has enough food, baking 32 loaves daily for the Sooke Food Bank.
